this is a rough draft of a reel I'm putting together for graduate school. I've never tried to condense all of my work, so comments/suggestions are appreciated.
so, he pieces are really lovely. i think theres an even amount of rearesentation of animation and non shown, though maybe more animation should be shown? i agree, maybe more music, the single song, though well linked to the transitions in the imagery does read like a discovery channel important issue infomercial. which isnt entirely bad, but i think eith something more lively, or a combination of more than one song would be nice.
(i know i dont know you, i'm that one weird friend of peters from detroit, i do like to watch your viedos from time to time, and i also like friendly crits. on things.) hope its helpful, and its a really beautiful rough reel...
Hi B. Magna Wander here. I tried to see your other films in completion, but could only get a full version of For the Three, which I thought was well done, tender, and interestingly told. This shows a lot of your use of different visual media: animation, live, mixtures, layering, etc. What it doesn't show (and it may just be that this is draft 1), is that you can use different sound media. Another piece of music is a good suggestion. You might also consider adding some dialogue, or different distorted voices or atonal music or something. Best of luck to you for grad school! xoxo
ok. last comment, I just wanted to say how beautiful some of the images were. There was some grass in black & white - possibly negative & layered? and the fish - tears stuff I thought was really cool. And that image of your dad running. well, I could gush all night...

This is really lovely.
explosions yes,
cobwebs no
may I suggest using two pieces of music. Two is better than one right?
I'm impressed.
