Vote for Blou- CLICK HERE

Blou

I received the following message from my sister this morning. I know this dog. He came to my graduation party and is kind of like the town mascot. I am usually wary about requests to vote for contests online, knowing that my mailbox will undoubtedly become flooded with unwanted junk-mail. This is not the case. There's no money involved, and all you have to do is click. And I'm a huge proponent for raising awareness about this serious issue. Almost as enthusiastic as I am about worldwide birth-control awareness. Anyway.

"There's this dog in my town named Blou. He's a rescued border collie. Jay, his human, took him in 7 or 8 years ago, psychological wounds, frost-bitten paws and all, and nursed him back to health. He's a kick-ass dog, the mascot of the local Harley club, and raises funds for all sorts of good causes, sending care care packages oversees to the troops and supporting shelters for abandoned animals.
He loves playing with flexible flyers- his teeth are still crap from past malnutrition, so you can't play any serious tug-of-war with him, but his hearts in it 100%- you can tell. He also has a knack for herding tourist children if they seem to be running amok and fighting off brooms and vaccum cleaners. I love him.
Anyway, Jay told me about this contest he joined, explained below, and asked if I'd help out with garnering votes. My network's pretty small, but I said I'd do what I could. If you all know any people who'd be wiiling to take two minutes out of their day to register a vote for Blou, please do forward this email to them. It's silly, I know, but why the hell not, right? And it IS for a good cause- who isn't a fan of castration? If you're not, go visit a pound.
Vote for Blou!

Blou joined a contest that is sponsored by the Humane Society of the United States for Spayday on Feb. 27th. The contest is to call attention to the importance of spaying and neutering pets. There are over 4 million unwanted dogs and cats euthanized in the US each year. These are all unnecessary deaths. Spay/neuter programs work hard to reduce the number of unwanted pets who live miserable lives and ultimately end up being put down. Time is short as we are late getting into this contest. Some of the entries already have a couple of thousand votes. We do appreciate your support, Vote for Blou as many times as e-mail addresses you have and spread the word.

I'd rather drown a batch of puppies than castrate my best friend. ;)
